The workshop
Engines prepared before they are listed
Bavarian Engines is based in Hamburg. The work is straightforward: find a sound BMW engine or gearbox, inspect it, photograph it, and pack it so a workshop can fit it.
Buyers come to us when a car has failed, when a project needs a known engine code, or when a garage wants a unit they can see before they pay. The listing photographs are of the unit on the bench, not a stock picture of a similar engine.
Petrol and diesel are both in the building, from everyday 320d and 330d replacements to M engines and the larger diesel sixes used in the 5 Series and the X models.
How the shop is organised

Replacement engines
Complete units for cars that need to go back on the road. The code, the year, and the gearbox are confirmed against the VIN before dispatch.
Performance engines
S and M engines, and the premium lines priced above €3,000, are held for builds where the engine itself is the point of the project.
Named by the car
Listings use the chassis, the badge, and the engine code, so a workshop can search 330d or M57 and land on the same family.
Gearboxes and drivetrain
Transmissions, transfer cases, differentials, shafts, and turbos sit beside the engines, because a swap rarely stops at the block.
Inspection
What happens on the bench
A unit is not listed because it looks tidy. Compression is compared cylinder to cylinder. Leak-down is noted where the test was run. Oil pressure is checked, and the sump is looked at for metal.
Ancillaries stay as they are on that engine. If a bracket, a sensor, or a turbo is missing, it is missing in the photographs. We do not promise a part that is not on the unit.
The result is written against the order. If a question comes back after delivery, it is answered from that record, not from memory.

Dispatch
From Hamburg, crated for a bay
Engines are heavy. They leave on a pallet built for a forklift or an engine crane, not for a domestic doorstep. Tell us who will unload it and the delivery day is planned around that.
Worldwide door-to-door shipping is 299,00 €. The warranty of up to 12 months starts from delivery, and it covers eligible internal failure when a qualified workshop installs the engine with the correct oil, coolant, and filters.
