What we do

A workshop service, not a catalogue of guesses

Bavarian Engines sells the engine, and it also does the work around the sale: matching the unit to the car, inspecting it, photographing it, crating it, and standing behind eligible internal failure for up to 12 months.

Workshops use us when they need a known code this week. Owners use us when the car is off the road and the replacement has to be the right one. Both get the same inspection and the same photographs.

Engine supply

Complete petrol and diesel BMW engines, photographed and priced. Search by family, by badge, or by engine code. The unit on the page is the unit that ships.

Shop engines

VIN matching

Send the VIN before you pay. We check the engine code, the chassis, the year, and the gearbox so a 330d badge is not treated as if every 330d used the same sump and flywheel.

Bench inspection

Compression, leak-down, and oil pressure are checked where the test applies. The sump is inspected for metal. Missing ancillaries are left missing, and the photographs show that.

Performance and premium

M engines and the premium lines sit above €3,000. They are for builds and replacements where the engine is specified by code, not only by the badge on the boot.

Gearboxes and drivetrain

ZF and Getrag gearboxes, transfer cases, differentials, shafts, and turbos are listed with the engines. A swap can be quoted as a set when the car needs more than a long block.

Crating and dispatch

Each engine is crated in Hamburg for a forklift or an engine crane. Door-to-door shipping is 299,00 €.

A typical order

From the VIN to the crate

You send the car
Chassis, year, gearbox, and VIN. If you already know the engine code, send that too.
We match the unit
The plate on the engine is checked against the car. If it is the wrong sump, flywheel, or cooler, we say so.
You see the inspection
Photographs, compression, leak-down, and oil pressure are part of the listing, not a favour after payment.
It leaves Hamburg
Crated, with the certificate on eligible engines, to an address that can unload it.

Support after delivery

The warranty and the installer

Up to 12 months

Eligible engines are covered from the delivery date against internal mechanical failure, when a qualified workshop fits them with the correct oil, coolant, and filters.

What is outside it

Incorrect installation, overheating, lack of oil, later modification, labour, towing, and consequential loss are not covered. Do not open the engine without written approval.

How to ask

Write to bavarianenginesofficial@gmail.com with the order, a description of the fault, and photographs. A mechanic’s report helps if we ask for one.

An independent garage replacing a 320d before the weekend. A specialist building an M car around a known code. An owner whose daily BMW has stopped and who wants the engine confirmed against the VIN.

The photographs, the price, and the inspection are the same in each case. What changes is the engine, and we would rather turn a sale down than send the wrong one.
