B47 engine guide: later 320d and 520d diesels
The B47 succeeded the N47. It is the correct engine only when the car was built with it.

What this guide covers
The B47 is the 2.0 diesel used in later 320d, 520d, and X3 20d cars. It replaced the N47 and does not fit an N47 car as a direct drop-in.
B47D20A is the code to read on the listing. Output still varies by car.
Fitment
Confirm the code in the VIN. A 2016 520d and a 2012 520d are different orders.

Use the B47 shop page. Do not add an N47 to the basket because the badge still says 320d.
Warranty
Eligible engines carry a warranty of up to 12 months after a correct installation by a workshop. The warranty covers eligible internal failure. It does not cover a mismatched fitment, a dry start, the wrong oil, or damage caused after the crate is opened.
Shipping
Door-to-door shipping from Hamburg is a flat 299,00 €. The engine is packed for freight and delivered to the address on the order. A forklift or an engine crane is required at delivery. The shipment is arranged to the destination the buyer provides.
