Inspected BMW engines: what the workshop actually checks

What this guide covers
An inspected engine is one the workshop has looked at before it is listed. The checks that were run are the ones written against that unit.
If a test was not run, the page does not pretend it was. Buyers can ask about a specific listing by email.
Fitment
Inspection does not create fitment. The engine still has to be the code the car needs.
What the workshop checks
Typical checks are compression compared cylinder to cylinder, leak-down where it was run, oil condition, metal in the sump, and damage that would matter in transit.
Sensors and brackets stay as photographed. They are not swapped for a cleaner spare so the picture looks tidier.

Warranty
Eligible engines carry a warranty of up to 12 months after a correct installation by a workshop. The warranty covers eligible internal failure. It does not cover a mismatched fitment, a dry start, the wrong oil, or damage caused after the crate is opened.
Shipping
Door-to-door shipping from Hamburg is a flat 299,00 €. The engine is packed for freight and delivered to the address on the order. A forklift or an engine crane is required at delivery. The shipment is arranged to the destination the buyer provides.
