What this guide covers
The N47 is the 2.0 diesel four in 118d, 320d, 520d, and X3 20d cars. Later cars moved to the B47, which is a different engine.
Timing-chain wear is the known issue on early N47 units. A replacement is bought so the car can be put back to work, and the listing still has to be the right N47.
Fitment
N47D20A, N47D20C, and N47D20D are not one part. The power and the year both matter.
A B47 will not be supplied against an N47 order.

Warranty
Eligible engines carry a warranty of up to 12 months after a correct installation by a workshop. The warranty covers eligible internal failure. It does not cover a mismatched fitment, a dry start, the wrong oil, or damage caused after the crate is opened.
Shipping
Door-to-door shipping from Hamburg is a flat 299,00 €. The engine is packed for freight and delivered to the address on the order. A forklift or an engine crane is required at delivery. The shipment is arranged to the destination the buyer provides.
