N57 engine guide: 530d and 330d LCI diesels
The N57 replaced the M57. Pre-LCI and LCI cars are not the same order.

What this guide covers
The N57 is the 3.0 diesel six in F10 530d, F30 330d, and the X5 and X6 30d and 40d cars. Single-turbo and twin-turbo versions are different engines.
The listing states N57D30A or the later code. Do not assume a 530d badge means one turbo.
Fitment
LCI cars changed emissions equipment and, on some chassis, the sump and the loom. Match the year.
An X5 N57 is not a saloon N57 with a different sticker.

Timing-chain noise is the question buyers raise. The workshop inspection is what decides whether that unit is listed.

Warranty
Eligible engines carry a warranty of up to 12 months after a correct installation by a workshop. The warranty covers eligible internal failure. It does not cover a mismatched fitment, a dry start, the wrong oil, or damage caused after the crate is opened.

Door-to-door shipping from Hamburg is a flat 299,00 €. The engine is packed for freight and delivered to the address on the order. A forklift or an engine crane is required at delivery. The shipment is arranged to the destination the buyer provides.
